Commit, invest, deliver...three words that sum up hope for hundreds of people who are suffering from Tuberculosis. Yes, World TB Day is observed on the 24th of March each year to bring hope and awareness to the families of patients suffering from TB. The World Health Organisation is in tango with nations to ward off this dreadful disease. Like any other disease, TB spreads through coughs, sneezes, and coming in close contact with the diseased people. Well-ventilated rooms, with fresh air and sunlight in good measure, plenty of exercise, eating healthy, and getting good sleep are some of the factors that can ward off this disease.
People must be more aware of the symptoms and reach out to a doctor if; coughs or sneezes persist. Smoking and alcohol are detrimental as well.
Maintaining good personal hygiene, washing hands before meals using washrooms, bathing regularly and most importantly, keeping our surroundings clean can help us to mitigate the disease.
Let us be more aware of these and always remember to reach out to the medical fraternity at the earliest.
