The Amazon is one of the world’s largest forests. Some parts are so dense and huge that there are species yet to be found and named. Added to this, they have their own rain pattern that regulates the rainfall not only in South America but also pushes the rain-bearing clouds across the African continent! That’s the power of a forest.
The 21st of March is celebrated as International Forest Day, to raise awareness of the conservation of forests and the scores of animals and birds that calls it their home. These natural reserves act as huge  aquifers as the deep roots of the magnificent trees draw the rainwater into the bowels of the earth thus stopping the rainwater run offs.
Our country too,has large forest covers. People living in these fringes gather medicinal herbs, wild honey that’s sweeter and better than the ready-made ones available in the market. A country is richer only if it safeguards its flora and fauna. Huge canopies of green cover cool the air in and around any place.
Nowadays, rampant misuse of our natural resources are leading to man-animal conflict, sometimes fatal on both the ends. We must create awareness and educate these fringe dwellers and make them understand their valuable contributions in building a strong forest cover. Let  us understand the significance of these forests, understand their offerings for the betterment of our great country.
