One of our greatest mathematicians was born this day in Erode, Tamilnadu. He is none other than the greatest mathematicians of all times, SRINIVASA RAMANUJAM. Though poor, his thirst for mathematics prodded him to pursue this field. His contribution to the theory of numbers, which includes pioneering discoveries of its properties, is unparalleled! December 22nd is celebrated as National Mathematics Day in our country to honor this great mathematician. He had an estimated IQ of 185! His contributions are relevant even to this day. May we have more Ramanujams who continue to contribute to the field of mathematics.
ZERO FOOD WASTE DAY:
A significant day today as this day is dedicated to all the agriculturists, who are the backbone of our great country. An agriculturist toils hard to sow, grow, reap, clean, and sell to the retailers, and we, in turn, buy and eat. But, this is not at all as easy as it sounds. Apart from growing the crops, young children must be made aware of the value of each grain that we eat. There are many countries in the world that are reeling under poverty, drought, and war torn.
In these conditions, it is the little children who suffer the most. Malnutrition is the bane of all ill health. We must inculcate the right way to eat without wasting a single morsel.
Most importantly, we must honor all the agriculturists for their back breaking work to feel 1 billion of us every day. Let us pay our respects to our humble agriculturists who provide us with the basic need of mankind, that is FOOD. More strength to them.
