Many people who have done exemplary work for mankind are conferred the Nobel Prize every year. Alfred Nobel, a rich Swede, initiated this award by keeping aside a large part of his wealth for one of the most prestigious awards in the world. In 1895, physics, mathematics, chemistry, peace, literature, and physiology are some of the main streams of this award. This prestigious ceremony is held at the Stockholm Concert Hall in Sweden. A gold plated green gold medal, a diploma, and a whopping 11 million SEK( Swedish Krona) are awarded to the winners. The first Nobel Prize won by an Indian is the late Shri Rabindranath Tagore. He became the first Asian and the first non European to win this award for literature! The youngest to win is Malala Yusufzai.
