The final day of Naada Habba, Dasara is VIJAYADASHMI. This is one of the most auspicious dates in the Hindu calendar! The name signifies the vanquishing of the evil forever. The victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana and also the victory of Goddess Chamundeshwari over the demon king Mahishasura. In our cultural capital, Mysore, the entire city wears a festive look as Goddess Chamundeshwari is placed in the golden Howdah and taken around the Mysore palace on the designated elephant. The elephants are decorated in vibrant hues. They amble gracefully, much to the delight of the thronging crowd! The festive fervor reaches sky-high as the entire city of Mysore and the palace come aglow with a lakh of bulbs, adding to the bygone royal charm. Let us offer our obeisance to the Goddess and ask for Her blessings and forgiveness. Let Mother Chamundeshwari lead us on the right path. SARVEJANO SUKHINO BHAVANTU!
