Rivers are our life-givers. It sustains a huge population and crops along its banks. The Nile is the longest river in the world! Our country, too, has many rivers watering the entire plains they flow in. In our state, the Cauvery nourishes and flourishes the entire delta that she flows. But, are we responsible for their upkeep? Are we not polluting the rivers that are essential for our livelihoods? How do we mitigate this malice? Awareness must be instilled in our children right from their early days so that they become the true guardians of nature's gift to us. Every river is a mother to all her children and let us show our respect by never polluting it by any standard. Happy World Rivers Day!
