India, our country is a land of unity in diversity. To foster unity, 'Sadhbhavana Diwas' is celebrated in honor of our then Prime Minister, Shri Rajiv Gandhi, as it is his 79th birthday. Shri Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India from the year 1984 to 89. Sadhbhavana in English translates to 'goodwill' and 'bonafide', which means to encourage national integration, peace, affection, and communal harmony among the people of India.
