We live in a world where some countries are waging wars. Thousands of civilians lose their lives for no fault of theirs, especially in nations that are developing or poor. Humanitarian aid workers are the unsung heroes as they give aid to people in need, risking their own lives. The UN has dedicated the 19th of August as World Humanitarian Day to recognize these selfless aid givers in times of dreaded diseases like COVID-19, Mpox, or any insurgencies. Something,  they are victimized and caught in the crossfire. Let us take a moment to thank these wonderful beings!
And, the 19th of August also marks the minting of 1 rupee coin by the then East India Company, in the year 1757, on the 19th of August!

Raksha Bandhan, quite a meaningful festival, secures a loving bond between a sister and a brother. This is celebrated today, on the 19th of August. Blessed are the ones who have loving siblings. The sacred, colorful thread that is tied to a brother by his sister embodies unending protection and love for his sister till eternity.  Let us celebrate this holy alliance not only today but at all times. HAPPY RAKSHA BANDHAN.
